      Key Technology of Marine Exhaust Gas Cleaning System Was Accepted by Expert Panel

      Jinan, September 21 (Xinhua): On September 20, the “Marine Exhaust Gas Cleaning Project of Magnesium Method” led by Dalian Maritime University, was accepted by expert panel from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which marks another substantive leap in Chinese marine equipment manufacturing.

      This project was organized by the Ministry of Transport, led by Dalian Maritime University, with various enterprises and institutions participating in its R&D process, including Aerospace communication Holding Group Co., Ltd., COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd., Dalian University of Technology, etc.

      On 20th, the expert panel visited the project’s industrial base, Weihai Puyi Marine Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. for acceptance, during which experts listened to project report, reviewed relevant materials, and comprehensively evaluated the project. The company’s technical capacity and treatment effect have been tested onboard, compliant with the strictest 0.1%m/m emission limit, which set a solid foundation for further industrialization.

      During project review, experts investigated the prototype equipment and ground-based laboratory. This laboratory is used to simulate operating process of the system to collect related data for improvement and optimization.

      The panel acknowledged this project as a significant breakthrough regarding compatibility and efficiency of EGCS, based on which there are altogether 10 invention patents, 5 utility model patents and 3 international PCT patents obtained, and 23 papers published. And its principle has been approved by CCS, BV, LR and ABS.

      At present, the project prototype has been installed and operated onboard, and the technology is up for wide application. So far, Puyi has designed EGCS for various institutions, receiving over 100 intentional orders. Thus, the expert panel has unanimously agreed on the acceptance.
